The placement of the first 3D-model is always in the center of the build plate. The orientation of the 3D-model (define upper/lower side etc.) was determined by the 3D-construction-software.
Often, and especially in this case, we want to rotate the model to avoid overhangs and the resulting support structures.



The chessboard-like area is simulation of the build plate. The 3D-model is yellow by default and the dark grey area is the area that is needed by the print head to succesfully print the model.
